Types of Therapy

Some of the approaches we may use together include:

Thoughts

Cogntive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT looks at the connections between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It helps us to notice unhelpful patterns and practice new ways of responding.

Mountains

Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT)

ACT teaches skills to make space for difficult feelings and thoughts rather than getting caught up in them. It focuses on mindfulness and personal values, to help us move forward towards what matters most.

Minimalist Chairs

Schema Therapy

Schema therapy helps us identify deeper patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that may have formed through early life experiences, and still affect you today. By recognising these patterns we can learn to practice new ways of getting our needs met.

Story Book

Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy sees you as separate from your problems. It allows you to explore your story in a new way, highlighting your values and strengths, to consider new ways of understanding and shaping your experiences.

Rock Balancing

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a practical, skills based therapy from a framework of mindfulness. DBT is especially useful for those wanting to learn ways to better manage immense distress, foster healthier relationships and regulate their emotions.

Eyes close up

Eye Movement Desensitistion and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a structured approach used to process distressing or traumatic memories so they feel less distressing. Using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, your brain is supported to reprocess these memories to feel more at ease.
